Mike&#8217;s work is rooted in the protest tradition of folk. Sometimes the songs are overtly political, but more often they are themes of more personal protest and reflection but they are always delivered with a whimsical humour and a sideways glance at a host of subjects from wealth to growing old. His witty, observational poetry has entertained audiences at literary and poetry festivals in the UK and North America. He was Appledore Book Festival\u2019s Garrick poet 2010 and Bristol Bike Festival 2010\u2019s Poet in Residence. His latest collection is \u201cHolding on and Looking Out\u201d (Paralalia April 2010).<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/citychameleon.co.uk\/wordofmouth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/claire.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-23\" title=\"claire\" src=\"http:\/\/citychameleon.co.uk\/wordofmouth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/claire-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Claire Williamson<\/strong> has published two narrative poetry collections: Ride On (PoTA Press, 2005) and The Soulwater Pool (Poetry Can, 2008) and is currently working on a novel, The Scarab Bookshop. She has been on three National tours with Apples and Snakes in Exposed, Performance Prose with Words Allowed and Performance Poetry with Pimp$ of the Alphab\u00a3t Press.
